Mr. Kewal Handa brings more than three decades of rich experience in handling businesses in diverse profiles such as Finance, Commercial, Strategy and Business Development, Corporate Affairs. He spearheaded Pfizer India as the Managing Director from 2005 to 2012 and strategically paved way for three mergers with Parke Davis - Warner Lambert (India) Private Limited, Pharmacia and Wyeth Ltd. respectively. Prior to this, he served as Executive Director – Finance at Pfizer and has also headed its Animal Health business. Mr. Handa was also the Managing Director of Wyeth Ltd. He has worked in sectors like Engineering, Consumer and Project Finance through companies like Schrader Scovill, SICOM, HLL & Vidyut Blades as well. During his stint at Pfizer, he has affirmatively driven various teams to hire and retain women colleagues in the management and more importantly in sales positions – an initiative unheard of in the Indian pharmaceutical industry.

Mr. Handa spearheaded several CSR initiatives while at Pfizer like ‘Nasha Free Punjab’ and Community-run Fair Price pharmacy. He envisioned Arpana Trust Mother & Child Care with a key focus to reduce infant and maternal mortality in Haryana through increased institutional deliveries and improved nutrition and health awareness. He also build partnerships with micro-finance NGOs in the Kalahandi district of Orissa to provide high quality drugs at lower than market prices to local communities. He has also partnered with the WHO and Ministry of Health to take the war on tobacco to the next level by increasing community awareness of existing tobacco cessation clinics and increasing treatment compliance. Under his guidance, Pfizer partnered with the NRHM and Impact Foundation to improve healthcare service delivery in local PHCs through public-private partnerships.

Mr. Handa has held prominent positions in the past at Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI), All India Management Association (AIMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) and Pharmaceutical Committee of ASSOCHAM. He is also a member of the Governing Board of IIM Raipur and was the independent Board Director and Chairman of audit committee at Alfa Laval Ltd.

Mr. Handa is a qualified Management Accountant and Company Secretary and has a Masters Degree in Commerce. He has completed the Pfizer Leadership Development Program from Harvard University, Senior Management Development Program from IIM Ahmedabad and Marketing Strategy from Columbia Business School. Mr. Handa was awarded the ‘India CFO 2004, Excellence in Finance in an MNC’ by International Market Assessment Group. Mr Handa was awarded, the Bharat Shiromani Award in 2007 and the Pharma Leaders - Pharma Professional of the year 2010. Mr. Handa is presently Promoter Director of Salus Lifecare Pvt. Ltd. and Strategic Adviser to various companies.

Dr. Zimra Israel brings over 20 years of diverse pharmaceutical and academic experience with key focus on global health policy and public affairs, opinion leader relations, alliance management experience to develop and support product commercialization and global access.

She has worked as an immunologist/vaccinologist in vaccine and HIV research in industry, academia and the governments in the US, India and Japan. She was affiliated with prestigious US institutions such as New York University Medical Center, Colorado State University and the New Mexico State University and has authored over 35 publications.

In her tenure at Wyeth (now Pfizer) Dr. Israel served as the project lead for multimillion dollar grants from the NIH and served on NIH review Boards. Dr. Israel also served as Associate Director, Clinical Research at Pfizer and was responsible for planning and leading phase 1 vaccine studies and epidemiological studies. As Director, Worldwide Policy at Pfizer, she built and maintained relationships with Pfizer scientists, subject matter experts, and external policy experts who generate new research and influence science policy debates within the global Vaccines and Biologics space. She also had the opportunity to work closely with the Corporate Social Responsibility team at Pfizer to identify partners and execute global programs.

Dr. Israel was the first woman international scientist to receive an award from the Viral Hepatitis Foundation of Japan for her research at the Nagasaki Chuo National Hospital in Nagasaki, Japan. Dr. Israel conducted her thesis work towards a Master’s degree followed by doctorate research on HIV/AIDS from Mumbai University at the National Institute of Virology in Pune, India. She is a Microbiology undergraduate from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

With 18 years of experience in development and corporate sectors at managerial and leadership positions, Rituparna’s core strengths lie in overall program management including development, conceptualization and implementation.

She also has extensive experience of business development and creating customized CSR programs for corporate entities. Though her areas of expertise have been health and education, she has gained experience in sectors like gender rights, women empowerment, vocational skills development and resource management.

She has worked with organizations like Akshara, Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Times Foundation, Smile Foundation and Childreach International India. She has also worked as a CSR consultant with NGOS and corporates like Purple Patch.

She has done her Masters in Social Work (Masters in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work) from Tata Institute of Social Science.

Ulka have over 18 years of experience. She has been fully involved with the social sector for over two and a half years now. Her association with the Indian Cancer Society as Director – Awareness & Detection helped gain insight and understanding of the functioning of the social sector. Her set of professional and communication skills helped scale up the activities of her vertical and were instrumental in garnering support for CSR projects.

Prior to her involvement in the social sector, she has a valuable experience in the area of advertising and communications. She has held senior leadership positions at leading advertising agencies like Leo Burnett and Enterprise Nexus. She has worked on several FMCG and lifestyle brands. She has worked closely with consumers to gain key insights that have helped tremendously in developing winning strategies and communication to increase market shares and enhance brand equity.

She is a consultant with Conexus Social Responsibility Services Pvt. Ltd. where she heads the business development activities of the company.

Dr. Julie Anne Hudman is a public policy expert with over two decades of experience in the analysis, development and execution of social programs and policies with an emphasis on health care finance strategies and policies. Dr. Hudman also has significant experience in the philanthropy sector – spending almost eight years at the US-based Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. Since moving to Mumbai in 2012, she has been the Director of Research at IndiaSpend, a start-up non-profit organization that builds on open data to report on and analyze a wide range of public policy issues in India, with the larger objective of fostering better governance, transparency and accountability. In addition to creating the organization’s first strategic plan, she creates and directs data analysis, content development, and writing of articles. Over the past year, Dr. Hudman has also worked with SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) where she focused on developing their public policy work efforts in order to better improve communication of their successful interventions to improve the health outcomes of women and children residing in Mumbai’s slums. She is also a Member of the Board of Studies for the Masters Degree in Public Policy and a Visiting Professor at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai.

Prior to moving to India in early 2012, Dr. Hudman has worked in various leadership capacities to improve access to quality health care. From 2006 till 2010, she was the top health care advisor to Washington, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty. After two years in the Mayor’s office, where she was responsible for providing direction and guidance for the City’s seven health and human service agencies, she was conferred by the City Council as Director of Washington, D.C.’s Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF). The Agency’s primary mandate was to improve health outcomes by providing access to comprehensive, cost-effective and quality healthcare services. As Director of DHCF, Dr. Hudman oversaw a budget of more than USD $2 billion (including DC’s Medicaid program) to provide health insurance coverage to over 225,000 of the District’s residents.

Earlier in her career, from 1991 till 2004, Dr. Hudman worked in research and academic settings, as well as state governments. At the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation she was Associate Director of The Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured for almost 8 years, and prior to that worked as a researcher at George Washington University’s Center for Health Policy Research. She began her extensive health policy career in state health programs, working at the state level in Oklahoma, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

In between these roles, Dr. Hudman has worked as a senior-level consultant providing strategic guidance and analysis on health care and social policy issues to a wide range of clients including foundations, NGOs, private sector businesses, health care providers, federal and state governments.

Dr. Hudman received her Ph.D from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health, M.P.P. from Georgetown University and B.A. from University of Oklahoma.

Sarika has eleven years of experience in working closely with non- governmental organizations in India. Her key strengths lie in the area of effective implementation of social projects, building NGO partnerships, monitoring & evaluation, facilitating research & training.

In CSRSPL she is heading implementation of CSR programmes across India. She has been working on IContribute online donation portal for building partnerships with various Stakeholders and looking after implementation of the project across two cities.

Sarika has wide experience in the areas of health, education and community development. She has proved her credentials as a team manager, campaigner and evaluator for fund grant/disbursement. Her understanding of concepts, analytical and evaluation skills are an essential attributes to implementation of any CSR program. She has conducted training programs for NGOs and CBOs.

She has been consulting with non - governmental organizations for designing programmes, organizational development and conducting various trainings for staff development. She also helps other organization to develop the monitoring and reporting system for various programs.

She has worked with Nathani Charitable Trust, Rangoonwala Foundation (India) Trust, Credibility Alliance and India Renal Foundation. Sarika has done her Master in Social Work (MSW) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and L.L.B. from Govt. Law College, Mumbai University.

Ranjana is decisive, action oriented and result focused professional with over 6 years’ experience in Social Development Sector with National NGOs and Corporate Houses. She is experienced in creating and leading teams from multiple disciplines and creating vision, strategies and plans in the midst of rapid growth and change, she has successfully implemented several developmental projects and contributed to different reform movements in the country, she has proven ability to manage in dynamic & fast changing environment. Ideally her experience gained as a Project coordinator in Center for Urban and Regional Excellence, as a National Project Coordinator- Livelihood and Advocacy in Nirmana and as a Coordinator in Technical Support Unit in Dr.A.V. Baliga Memorial Trust. In this capacity, she co-managed this flagship store in all areas of work profile. She has an experience to organize as well as conducting trainings and workshops on brainstorming events, program management, team management etc. She has also worked in different states such as Delhi, Agra, Jharkhand, Raipur, etc on different themes.

Her project management skills include project planning, writing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. She also possesses experience in policy advocacy at grass root and National levels. She possesses academic qualifications in Social Work and Human Resource Management.
